WORKSHOPS
A typical workshop is two hours and is designed specifically
for corporations and businesses. The central goal
of a workshop is to better equip your staff with the
tools to recognize and address aggressive, potentially dangerous
behavior in the workplace. This training is designed to prevent
your employees from being targeted, as victims and it will give
them the techniques they need to effectively handle themselves
in a variety of threatening situations ranging from harassment
to actual physical assault. Our
program not only improves your employees' ability to handle difficult
situations, but it also improves confidence and morale.
The workshop includes:
- Awareness Prevention Strategies: Teaches how to avoid high-risk situations and also gives tips on how to make everyday situations safer.
- Physical Self Defense Distraction and Escape Techniques: Teaches employees simple yet effective physical techniques to allow them to escape from violent encounters (i.e., what to do if the aggressor grabs your wrist, your neck, your shirt). This portion of the course also provides realistic defenses for more violent confrontations (i.e., what to do if your knocked to the ground and are being choked or kicked).
- Everyday Assertiveness and Boundary–Setting: Teaches both verbal and body language techniques that are very useful in handling uncomfortable situations. These simple techniques are used to take the power away from the aggressor.
- Physical, Psychological and Verbal Defense Skills: Teaches how to use de-escalation strategies to help reduce the risk of a violent episode. Participants also learn about the range of safeguards that can be implemented at the workplace and how to use them in a potential crisis situation. Personal safety techniques are also introduced so that participants are able to defend themselves against and escape from basic physical attacks.
- Basic Self Defense Kicking and Striking Locations: This hands-on training shows participants how to protect themselves, in realistic situations, against an assailant (instructor) with the use of
kicking pads and shields.
- Learning how to use your Personal Weapons: We are all equipped with personal weapons that can be used against an assailant. In fact, carrying a weapon such as a gun or a knife can more often than not put the victim in more danger.
